The name Bîrî-mî Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Bîrî-mî Bî was founded by Shnirlol Zlkêpî, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Overview

Bîrî-mî Bî was founded durring the early 12th century in winter of the year 1145, by Shnirlol Zlkêpî. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Shnirlol Zlkêpî.

Bîrî-mî Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Bîrî-mî Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber and earth construction, with most buildigns first floors resembling mounds of earth, with subsequent floors appearing as elaborate log cabins, with each building forming a tiered pyramid of sorts fromed from the stack of rectangular, peek roofed cabins. Most wooden bracing, support, and trim is carved with decorative knotwork, and the larger structures even feature painted trim which emphasises the knotwork.

Bîrî-mî Bî is is constructed arround a series of spacious cobblestone mainstreets which form overlapping circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town rests behind a thick wall made from clay bricks. The wall has all of the proper fortifications and is well made. Unfortuantly the nature of clay brick leaves it quite vulnerable to siege equipment, though the thickness of the wall lends it simmilar resistnace to a thinner hardrock wall. The millitarily questionable fortifications have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

A look arround Bîrî-mî Bî reveals an abundance of schools, libraries, and other academic structures. Locals can be overheard having academic discussions, as well as talking about scholarly subjects in general. It’s quite clear the town places a lot of value on education and being a learned individual.

Civic Infrastructure

Cultural Notes

Bîrî-mî Bî's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is based upon new and innovative technologies of construction and the idea that form should follow function. It was an embrace of minimalism and a rejection of ornament. The style became characterized by an emphasis on volume, asymmetrical compositions, and minimal ornamentation..

The Skinstitch near Bîrî-mî Bî are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Bîrî-mî Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves consuming a local narcotic to channel Abjuration energies of tier 1 via divine sermons.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century Bîrî-mî Bî was struck by unseasonably warm weather, causing a sweltering heat to smouther the land for 17 days. Bîrî-mî Bî lost 101 people and 268 livestock in the disaster.. The deadly heat is remembered by most as the Terror's Flame.
